A defect investigation is assessed against the engineering for your lot, the Guide to Standards and Tolerances 2015, the National Construction Code and ABCB Housing Provisions, AS 2870 for slabs, AS 3700 for masonry and AS 3740 for wet areas.

Not on its own. An investigation report is drawn up for the owner and the builder. The Building and Plumbing Commission dispute service and VCAT both require an expert witness report drawn to the VCAT practice note, which we prepare separately.
No destructive opening, no engineering certification, no ground sampling and no repair work. If an engineer is required, the report states it.
We publish photographs only from the service and area they belong to. We have not carried out an investigation report in this corridor that we can show, and using images from another kind of inspection would misrepresent the work. What the service actually covers is the scope and method set out above.
